Pretty Paisleys

Hello lovelies!

Here is a girly, swirly and fun manicure for you...I am sharing these pretty paisley patterns as a quick break from all the festive madness that takes over this time of year.

This manicure is a design that took me a while to post.  That's because this is actually my third attempt at completing this...and it still isn't perfect! Ah well.

Bottle Shot

I love this amazing full image paisley pattern that born pretty have created.  But to be quite honest, it was beyond my stamping decal abilities.   (The fine detail is sooooo hard to colour)

To make things easier for myself, I isolated a really small section of this image for my decals, and tried my best to colour the pretty paisleys in!

For my accent finger, I reversed the decals by stamping over a "smoosh attack" base (see tutorial at the end of this post).  This meant I only needed to colour the centre of the paisleys white!

Here is the smoosh attack accent finger before I added top coat....don't worry, one coat of clear smoothes out all of these lumps and bumps.

I will definitely use this gorgeous stamping image again, but next time, I'll try it with gradient stamping instead of decals.

Pink Polka Dots

This week I  really wanted to stamp and use my dotting tool!  And I found a perfect set of polka dots on my new drk designer plate!  I stamped these first, then used the dots as guides for a gradient dotticure <3

Mental Health Awareness Week

I suffer from depression, so this week is important to me.

Thank you Laurie for prompting us to wear green.  I chose this image because I find it beautiful and chaotic, then I combined it with intense neon colours.  This is how the world looks to me at the moment.  Confusing!!!

Pastel Chevrons

The theme today is "Chevrons" it's day 23 of September is Stamping Month.

The inspiration for this manicure came from Natalie.  She gave me the idea for the pastel base colours. She stamped perfect triangles over her base.  You will find her blog post and description here: enjoy, it's a really beautiful site. It's the 15th day of September is Stamping Month  The theme today is "Clouds / Rain"  I had to try both, but this excludes me from the "Rainbows" theme tomorrow.  It does mean I killed two birds with one stone, so Tuesday will be for experimenting and playing with my new Mundo de Uñas stamping polishes!!!!!

Owl in a Tree

It is the tenth day of September is Stamping Month. Another fantastic theme.  It's "Trees"

I have a wonderful Moyou London, Mother Nature plate with three gorgeous trees to choose from.  I haven't used any so far, so I decided to start from the left :)

The tree on this plate was my inspiration. I wanted to differentiate between the leaves and branches, so  I picked a nice green and brown for gradient stamping (I'm not sure this is the correct term). The plate is quite busy, so I chose a neutral base gradient as a simple background.  I was also careful about what I stamped and where (I actually had to sketch it out and did a test mani on paper) even after all that thought, I still slipped up a few times!
