Pastel Chevrons

The theme today is "Chevrons" it's day 23 of September is Stamping Month.

The inspiration for this manicure came from Natalie.  She gave me the idea for the pastel base colours. She stamped perfect triangles over her base.  You will find her blog post and description here: enjoy, it's a really beautiful site. Scroll a bit further down this post, to see a photo of her manicure <3.

Base colours (from left in photo below) blobbed and sponged onto the nail randomly over Sinful Colors, 101 Snow me White:
  • Primark Nail Polish, Unnamed (turquoise)
  • Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine, Blueberry GNP 5
  • Rimmel Salon Pro, 337 Purple Rain
  • Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine, Dragon GNP 11
Held in hand is my absolute favourite (actually, my only) jelly polish.  It makes everything soft and dreamy, I reckon even Laurie Nievin might like this one!

Twin Nails with San

San is the amazing girl who taught me this technique to make nail decals.  Now I always always use this method.  I feel so lucky to do a twin manicure with her, she is so talented, there's never a mistake on her nails <3  See her video here.  She explains everything so beautifully.

Crazy French Tips

Today's theme is "French Tips"  it's day 22 of September is Stamping Month.  I actually wore this manicure last week to test out some of my new Mundo de Uñas stamping polishes.  I really liked the end result, so I thought I'd save it to post it publically for today's theme.

Marbled Galaxy

My first water marbling :)  I used the dry method, you can see parts of this process below. This technique will take some practise.

Base colour: Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine, Green Berry GNP 12
Water marble colours (from left in photo below):  Bronze Metalic nail colour from Savers, Barry M Aquarium Collection, AQNP5 Arabian, Ciate Paint Pots, PP037 Starlet

I was aiming for peacock inspired colours, but after seeing my marbled nails, I decided they looked more like a galaxy in space.  So obviously, I stamped stars over!!!!

Scary

Today is the 20th day of September is Stamping Month.  The theme today is "Scary"

I have ripped off this amazing creation by Irina Walerica (http://walerica.blogspot.ru/) click here for the instagram photo that gave me inspiration for my manicure.

I find the scull on this artist plate really morbid.  I chose to stamp with purple since the colour is often used to symbolise mourning or death as are the carnations scattered around those roses.  I lifted the mood slightly by painting the roses pink!

Base colour: Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine, Coconut GNP 28
Stamp colour: Mundo de Uñas Stamping Polish, 14. Violet

Cute Aliens

Today is day Nineteen of September is Stamping Month.  And the theme is "Space / Aliens"
Yet another perfect theme for me!!!!  I haven't successfully used my moyou full image plate and I've been wanting to try again for a while.  There are so many brilliant parts to this plate, it was tough choosing how to get the best bits onto my nails.  In the end, I swatched my favourite parts, cut out each finger and arrange them until I was happy (see photo below).  I mostly managed to stick to the plan!

And, of course, I couldn't resist puting the alien theme over a funky sci-fi background pattern.  So this manicure took longer than most.  I was really happy with the outcome though.
